Overview
Black Hawk College seeks adjunct/part‑time instructors for the Adult Education (non‑credit) English as a Second Language program. Instructors will provide English language and cultural instruction. Openings are available at the Adult Learning Center in Rock Island, IL and the Outreach Center in East Moline, IL. Review of applications will begin immediately.
ResponsibilitiesUsing a provided curriculum, faculty members are expected to encourage learning by preparing appropriate lessons and/or activities to enhance students’ educational experience; evaluate students’ performance; and maintain classroom records, equipment, and instructional materials.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Previous teaching experience or experience with ESL learners preferred.
Minimum starting pay for Adult Education Adjunct Faculty (as of Fall 2024):
- Bachelor’s Degree — $25.97 per contact hour.
- Bachelor’s +15 Degree — $28.14 per contact hour.
- Master’s — $30.30 per contact hour.
