Receptionist - Pendre Surgery

Job Summary

Our Medical Receptionists perform a varied range of duties to support the day‑to‑day operation of the practice. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the face and voice of the surgery.

Our team comprises a brilliant and welcoming group of receptionists, administration staff, managers, doctors, nurses, healthcare assistants and a pharmacy team who are all here to help look after our patients in the local area.

Pay scheme: Salary: £11.44 an hour.
Contract: Permanent.
Working pattern: Full‑time.

• Operate the telecommunications system – booking patients onto triage and handling telephone queries.
• Maintain a high standard of patient care via telephone or the online eConsult system.
• Deal with patient enquiries, register patients, explain procedures, and give general advice on non‑clinical issues.
• Collect and record dispensing/private fees and provide receipts where applicable.
• Ensure the reception desk is attended at all times.
• Open and close premises when necessary.
• Work as part of a wider administrative team.

Essential

• Experience using computer‑based systems and customer‑service skills.

Desirable

• Previous GP or NHS experience.
