Overview

Are you a passionate and knowledgeable Registered Veterinary Nurse with a desire to educate and inspire? Join us at Coleg Cambria, Northop, as a Veterinary Nurse Lecturer and make a significant impact on the future of veterinary nursing education. As a Veterinary Nurse Lecturer, you will deliver a comprehensive learning experience for students at Level 2 and 3, including captivating teaching sessions, preparation of learning materials, and rigorous marking of work to provide valuable feedback and track progress.

You will adhere to quality systems to continuously improve student retention, recruitment, and achievement targets, and participate in self-assessment procedures, external inspections, and verification activities to maintain and enhance educational standards. You will assess the effectiveness of learning sessions, engage in teaching observations, and ensure delivery meets diverse learning needs. Through your dedication and expertise, you will empower and inspire the next generation of veterinary nursing professionals.

Any successful candidate without a teaching qualification must also be willing to complete a PGCE which would be funded by the college. This will be one day a week over 2 years, starting from September. Roles are normally advertised with a salary range. If offered a role at the college, relevant experience will be taken into consideration to determine your starting salary.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver captivating and informative teaching sessions for Level 2 and 3 students.
  • Prepare learning materials and mark students’ work, providing valuable feedback and tracking progress.
  • Adhere to quality systems to improve student retention, recruitment, and achievement targets.
  • Participate in the college’s self-assessment procedures, external inspections, and verification activities.
  • Monitor and evaluate learning sessions and engage in teaching observations to ensure high-quality delivery and inclusivity for diverse learners.
Qualifications
  • Registered veterinary nurse (RVN).
  • Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in veterinary nursing.
  • Teaching Qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE, C&G 7407) or willing to work towards.
  • Knowledge of the broad range of learning needs and how to support these needs within a learning environment.

Salary and Other Information

Pro Rata Salary: M1 £ 13,438.40 – UP3 £ 20,772.80 (Upper pay range points UP2 and UP3 are subject to evidence of previous progression to Upper Pay Spine).
