Position Description

Immediately Hiring a Dedicated SOLO Class B Driver in Modesto, CA. We want the right Employee to Drive with us at Ryder.

• $29.32 per hour (minimum)
• Weekly pay
• Up to $1,288 or more weekly, with potential for higher pay
• Paid training
• Schedule:
  
  Tuesday–Friday with one mandatory Saturday; start time 5:00 AM; 40+ hours per week
• Paid personal time off starting at day 1 (up to 80 hours accrued in the first year)

• Routes: SOLO to Sacramento, Stockton, Fresno, and as far east to Sequoia Park and Yosemite
• Route type:
  Home daily
• Tractor type: requires 6 months straight truck experience
• Trailer types: reefer, 16', 24', and 26'
• Equipment: manual pallet jack, hand truck, and lift gate (Ryder will train you on all equipment needed)
• Freight: very heavy touch—beverages; preference for beverage distribution experience
• Trucks are 36 months or newer, include 24/7 roadside maintenance, and company drivers fuel up the trucks at over 800 maintenance facilities nationwide

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards while maintaining accurate records and logs
• Loading and unloading freight, or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by the customer
• Performing other duties as assigned

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder drug test
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A or Class B verifiable experience in a tractor‑trailer or comparable vehicle
• Experience:
  
  9 months within the past 3 years, OR 2 years within the last 5 years, OR 5 years within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures

Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
