Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group (PAFMG) is seeking a skilled and motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Vascular Surgery team in Mountain View, CA.

This role is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, planning, and implementing comprehensive medical care for patients in close collaboration with a supervising physician. The advanced practice provider will function within the full scope of licensure and is accountable for the assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of care, including direct patient care, patient and family education, and care transitions.

• Provide medical consultations, perform therapeutic procedures as delegated, assist with surgical procedures, complete daily rounds as needed.
• Ensure continuity of care through an organized, multidisciplinary team approach across the care continuum.

• Education: Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program or an accredited school of nursing;

  PA-Physician Assistant; NP-California Nurse Practitioner by California Department of Consumer Affairs; NP-F - Nurse Practitioner Furnishing; RN-California Registered Nurse; CSRC-Controlled Substance Registered Certification (DEA); BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider; NCCPA-National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants required at hire or within 12 months (if hired before 07/10/2025 PAs may not bill for services without NCCPA); other certifications based on departmental requirements.

  Experience:
  
  2 years of recent relevant experience; preferred – Sclerotherapy.
• Skills and Knowledge:
  • Demonstrated general knowledge and competence with regard to advanced nursing theories, concepts and practices; medical terminology; anatomy; and physiology.
  • Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precaution policies, best practices regarding patient care and privacy, and changes in local/state/federal regulations.
  • Possess written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non‑medical people.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook), Electronic Health Record.
  • Prioritize and delegate assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.
  • Identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.
  • Ensure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI).
  • Build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.
  • Critical thinking skills as it relates to specialized departments, including the ability to complete age‑appropriate assessments.
