Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group (PAFMG) is seeking a skilled and motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Vascular Surgery team in Mountain View, CA.
Responsibilities- Assess, diagnose, plan, and implement comprehensive medical care for patients in close collaboration with a supervising physician.
- Function within the full scope of licensure and be accountable for the assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of care.
- Provide direct patient care, patient and family education, and care transitions.
- Conduct medical consultations, perform therapeutic procedures as delegated, assist with surgical procedures, complete daily rounds as needed.
- Ensure continuity of care through an organized, multidisciplinary team approach across the care continuum.
- Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Or graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Or possess a Master’s:
Nursing degree.
- PA-Physician Assistant.
- Or NP-California Nurse Practitioner by California Department of Consumer Affairs.
- NP-F – Nurse Practitioner Furnishing.
- RN-California Registered Nurse.
- CSRC – Controlled Substance Registered Certification (DEA).
- BLS – Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider.
- NCCPA – National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants required at hire or within 12 months if hired before 07/10/2025 (PAs may not bill for services without NCCPA).
- Other certifications based on departmental requirements.
- 2 years of recent relevant experience.
- Preferred – Sclerotherapy.
- Advanced nursing theories, concepts, practice, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Knowledge of healthcare industry safety policies, best practices, patient care and privacy regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with diverse audiences.
- Basic knowledge of computer applications (Microsoft Office, Electronic Health Record).
- Ability to prioritize and delegate assignments, work within standardized policies and procedures.
- Capability to work independently and as part of a team in an environment with interruptions.
- Problem‑solving skills for standard issues with appropriate solutions.
- Ensuring privacy of protected health information (PHI).
