Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Director of Emergency Services is a professional registered nurse responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating nursing care provided by a designated emergency healthcare team. The Director has twenty‑four hour responsibility for the unit’s standards, staffing, leadership, decision‑making, fiscal guidelines, and departmental relationships. The Director fosters a supportive, professional environment for physicians, staff, and patients and is dedicated to performance improvement.
Minimum EducationBachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Nursing.
Minimum Experience/SkillsThree to five years of management experience.
License/Certificates/CredentialsCurrent Registered Nursing license for the state of California.
Physical Demands- Prolonged and extensive standing/walking
- Lifts, positions, and pushes up to 25 pounds
- Manual dexterity and mobility
Ability to adjust vision sufficiently to perform position accountabilities.
