Responsibilities- Plan strategies and procedures to meet the Plant’s goals in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Motivation
- Provide leadership and overall guidance to team members
- Plan and schedule team members and equipment to complete orders by deadlines
- Work with external departments to prioritize orders to meet business needs
- Support the strategic planning of the department to plan for future capacity
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on department specific processes, equipment, and resources; with a focus on maintaining compliance with established safety and environmental regulations
- Develop team training plans to ensure understanding and knowledge transfer to all members
- Collaborate with Maintenance to ensure all equipment is properly calibrated and routinely inspected
- Work with and manage employees handling chemicals and pesticides
- Generate and provide reports to upper management on department specific KPI’s
- Enforce all company and plant specific policies and issue disciplinary actions as needed
- Recommend and implement process improvements by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements
- Stay up to date with new seed industry trends and techniques and promote new ideas to team members
- 3 years of seed processing experience or 5 years of general warehouse or manufacturing experience or a combination of both
- 2 years of leadership experience
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing is highly desirable
- Ability to obtain Applicators License may be required
