• Plan strategies and procedures to meet the Plant’s goals in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Motivation
• Provide leadership and overall guidance to team members
• Plan and schedule team members and equipment to complete orders by deadlines
• Work with external departments to prioritize orders to meet business needs
• Support the strategic planning of the department to plan for future capacity
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on department specific processes, equipment, and resources; with a focus on maintaining compliance with established safety and environmental regulations
• Develop team training plans to ensure understanding and knowledge transfer to all members
• Collaborate with Maintenance to ensure all equipment is properly calibrated and routinely inspected
• Work with and manage employees handling chemicals and pesticides
• Generate and provide reports to upper management on department specific KPI’s
• Enforce all company and plant specific policies and issue disciplinary actions as needed
• Recommend and implement process improvements by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements
• Stay up to date with new seed industry trends and techniques and promote new ideas to team members

• 3 years of seed processing experience or 5 years of general warehouse or manufacturing experience or a combination of both
• 2 years of leadership experience
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing is highly desirable
• Ability to obtain Applicators License may be required
