About the RoleWe are seeking a strong Tax Manager to join a well-established and growing public accounting firm in the Central Valley. This is a high impact leadership role designed for a seasoned tax professional who enjoys owning client relationships mentoring teams and serving as a trusted advisor to both clients and firm leadership.
This role is ideal for someone who brings deep technical tax expertise strong relational skills and a long-term mindset. With several senior leaders approaching retirement this position offers meaningful opportunity for continuity advancement and influence within the firm.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a primary advisor to clients providing strategic tax planning compliance and consulting services
- Review complex individual business partnership and entity tax returns ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance
- Manage and mentor tax staff providing guidance training and performance feedback
- Oversee tax engagements including workflow planning deadline management and quality control
- Collaborate closely with firm leadership to support succession planning process improvement and team development
- Stay current on federal and California tax law changes and proactively advise clients and internal teams
- Build and maintain strong long term client relationships through clear communication and high service standards
- Minimum 6 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting
- Demonstrated experience reviewing complex tax returns and managing client relationships
- Strong technical tax knowledge across individual and business taxation
- Proven ability to lead mentor and develop tax professionals
- Excellent communication skills with a consultative and relationship driven approach
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- CPA license preferred but not required
- Experience serving privately held businesses and high net worth individuals
- Exposure to succession planning and leadership transition environments

- In accordance with California law the salary range for this position is $120,000 to $160,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience skills and qualifications.
