• Pay or shift range: $100,000 USD to $120,000 USD

SUMMARY: The Controller oversees all accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls for a tactical apparel and gear company with a full distribution center. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, timely close processes, effective cash management, and compliance with applicable regulations, while supporting leadership with financial analysis and decision-making. The Controller manages a team of three accounting professionals.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes
• Maintain the chart of accounts
• Prepare month-end journal entries and general ledger reconciliations
• Maintain primary responsibility for the general ledger

Accounting Operations

• Supervise Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
• Oversee cash receipts, disbursements, and reconciliations
• Manage cash flow and banking activities

Inventory & Cost Accounting

• Research inventory cost variances to standard monthly
• Oversee inventory valuation and reconciliation for distribution operations

Budgeting, Forecasting & Commissions

• Lead budgeting and forecasting processes

Monitor performance against budget and provide variance analysis
• Oversee sales commission calculations, reporting, and payouts
• Prepare required regulatory filings and internal reports
• Support audits and tax compliance with external partners
• Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff
• Perform other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE/

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• ERP System Experience, knowledge of ABS or AS400 is a plus
• Experience in inventory-based or distribution environments

• This position is primarily performed in an on-site office environment.
• The role requires prolonged periods of sitting, working at a desk, and using a computer, keyboard, and telephone.
