Sr. Analyst, FP&A Merchandising Finance - Modesto, CA
Job Summary:
The Senior FP&A Analyst’s responsibilities include assisting with the revenue planning process, analyzing financial statements and reports, developing complex financial models, and performing research and analysis as required by leadership. The Senior FP&A Analyst will also be responsible for providing financial guidance to the business and will be actively involved in the monthly forecast process and monthly close process. They will be responsible for providing detailed reporting, analysis, and support on key P&L lines.
They will challenge the status quo to drive business improvement and should be a proactive self-starter that is driven for results and able to balance competing priorities. Other responsibilities and duties may be assigned as determined.
Responsibilities:
- Support the revenue planning process for development of monthly forecast and annual operating plan
- Create forecast models that provide guidance and insight for the company to achieve its objectives
- Review forecasts with business stakeholders and finance leadership, highlighting areas of opportunity and risk
- Analyze and evaluate performance of strategic initiatives on a pre/post net of control basis
- Review and analyze financial reports to drive insights for optimal business decisions
- Prepare and deliver presentations to business stakeholders and senior executives
- Track KPIs and prepare recurring financial reports in partnership with Accounting and business stakeholders
- Provide business stakeholders with financial guidance through proactive research and analysis
- Drive process improvement for accuracy and efficiency/automation within areas of responsibility
- Other ad-hoc support and analysis as needed

Hiring pay range: $81,386.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Relevant experience including retail or other multi-unit company, investment banking, private equity, or consulting
- Solid finance/accounting knowledge (e.g. ability to create sophisticated financial models, understanding of financial statements and metrics, understanding of accounting processes)
- Expertise in Microsoft Office including Excel and Power Point
- Working knowledge of financial planning systems such as Adaptive Insights and Hyperion
- Working knowledge of relational data models and SQL or query tools preferred
- Robust analytical skills including working knowledge of statistics
- Verbal and written communication skills; ability to present financial information to a non-financial audience
- Solid organizational skills and detail orientation with ability to multi-task to meet key deadlines
- Ability to operate independently and to communicate and influence across multiple organizational levels, including senior executives
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to summarize results succinctly, and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
- Prior experience in retail revenue forecasting
Experience: 5 years in rigorous, fast-paced financial planning, analysis and modeling
Education: 4 year Bachelors Degree and/or equivalent experience/training in Accounting, Finance, or related field
