Part Time Faculty office Hours are paid at a flat rate of $30 per hour.

Scope of AssignmentThe successful candidate will join a Nurse Assistant department that continues to create curriculum responsive to student needs, increasing student completion through the implementation of strategies geared to increase student equity. Under the supervision of the Dean of Health Professions, the instructor will teach Nurse Assistant students in clinical, Skills Lab and Human Simulation Lab environments in accordance with course descriptions, outlines and class schedules;
evaluate student progress, advise students concerning educational matters, and participate in activities that strengthen student success. The Nurse Assistant Clinical Instructor may not have any other responsibilities while supervising the clinical training.
- Licensed vocational nurse or registered nurse with no less than two years of nursing experience, including at least one year providing care to chronically ill or elderly patients in an acute care hospital, skilled nursing facility, intermediate care facility, home care, hospice care, or other long‑term care setting.
- Two (2) years of full‑time licensed nursing experience, at least one (1) year of direct patient care in a nursing facility.
- Within six (6) months of employment, obtain at least twenty‑four (24) hours of continuing education in planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs in nursing approved by the Board of Registered Nursing or an accredited institution.
- Provide a transcript of completed courses to the CDPH for approval of qualifications.
- Knowledge of and ability to appraise diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
- Sensitivity to the needs, problems and challenges associated with student diversity.
- Mobility:
Ability to sit or stand for long periods, move about an office, and reach above and below desk level. - Dexterity:
Fine manipulation sufficient to operate a keyboard, handle papers, write and take notes. - Lifting:
Occasional lifting of items up to 25 pounds. - Visual Requirements:
Close vision sufficient to read files, documents, and computer screens. - Hearing/Talking:
Ability to hear normal speech, speak and hear on the telephone and in person. - Emotional/Psychological Factors:
Ability to make decisions, concentrate, and manage frequent contact with others and deadlines.
