Salary:
Placement on the Yosemite Community College District salary schedule dependent upon education and experience. Salary Schedule – $75,979 to $141,835 per year or $89,533 to $145,028 with an earned doctorate. New personnel limited to a maximum tenth step initial placement based on previous experience – maximum equals $117,949 or $121,140 with an earned doctorate.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree plus two years of professional experience related to the assignment, OR
Associate Degree plus six years of professional experience directly related to the assignment, OR a California Community College Instructor credential appropriate to the subject, OR the equivalent.

Job Description Summary
GENERAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
All full-time faculty are expected to participate actively in their disciplines, department activities, and the general intellectual life and governance of the college. Part of the teaching assignment includes in person and online to support the hybrid program, teaching assignment may also include evening, and/or Saturdays. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Teaching Fire Technology courses in both lecture and laboratory modalities in accordance with the approved course outline of record.
• Secondary teaching areas may include areas in Search and Rescue, EMS, State Fire Marshal training, and/or Homeland Security-related course offerings.
• Proof of current evaluator training through the Office of the State Marshall, or obtain such certification during the first six months of employment.
• Promote and continue development of Fire Technology courses, certificates, degrees, and other training programs.
• Shared responsibility to create and maintain accurate records and documentation, and facilitate the implementation and tracking of all activities required to sustain the ongoing accreditation of the Modesto Junior College Fire Academy through the Office of the State Marshal.
• Advancing equitable student learning through dedicated, exemplary instruction in accordance with established course outlines.
• Informing students of course requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance requirements.
• Preparing and grading class assignments and examinations, and informing students of their academic progress.
• Maintaining attendance, scholastic, and other records and submitting them according to published policies and deadlines.
• Developing, implementing, and assessing student-learning outcomes for courses and programs and using the results for improvement.
• Engaging in data inquiry and self-assessment to develop strategies for student success, persistence, and equity.
• Participating in professional development activities to fulfill mandatory FLEX requirements
• Fulfill the additional professional responsibilities of a faculty member, including assessment of student learning, committee work, and outreach activities.
