Flooring Estimator

Rays Floor & Home, located in Modesto, CA, has been serving the greater Stanislaus County area for over 48 years. As we grow, we are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Estimator to support our team.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in our project success — accurately estimating flooring jobs and helping our team deliver top-quality results on time and within budget:

• Review plans, measurements, and project specs to prepare detailed takeoffs and estimates
• Calculate material, labor, and subcontractor costs for carpet, tile, LVP, hardwood, and other flooring types
• Collaborate with sales and project managers to clarify scope and ensure estimates align with client expectations
• Source and verify vendor pricing for materials and services
• Prepare and submit bids, proposals, and change orders
• Track job costs and assist with budget management throughout project execution
• Maintain organized project documentation and stay up-to-date on new products and pricing trends

• 3+ years of experience in a construction-related field
• Strong knowledge of flooring materials, installation requirements, and industry standards
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints or construction documents
• Proficiency with estimating tools or software (RFMS Measure preferred)
• Exceptional attention to detail with strong math and analytical skills
• Clear communication style and the ability to work with a fast-moving team
• A self-starter mindset and dedication to accuracy and follow-through
