About the PositionPAC Shield Roof Services, Inc. is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support our accounting team with processing invoices, maintaining accurate records, and supporting billing documentation for ongoing projects. This role is a great opportunity for someone to gain hands‑on experience in construction accounting, with training provided on our systems and processes.
This is a full‑time position based in Modesto, CA, reporting to the Office Manager/Executive Administrator.
Responsibilities Accounts Payable- Review and verify vendor invoices for accuracy
- Ensure purchases are properly coded to the correct job and general ledger account
- Maintain organized records of vendor invoices and supporting documentation
- Assist with preparing and organizing documentation for customer invoices
- Support progress billing documentation for construction projects
- Track and collect vendor lien waivers as required for project billing
- Maintain organized billing records for each project
- Assist with job setup in Quick Books
- Maintain organized financial and project documentation
- Support accurate job costing by ensuring transactions are properly recorded
- Assist the accounting team with administrative accounting tasks as needed
- Basic familiarity with Quick Books or similar accounting software preferred
- Strong attention to detail with accurate data entry and follow‑through
- Well-organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Willingness to learn and develop skills in an accounting role
- Strong communication skills, including phone, email, and in‑person interactions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with professionalism and integrity
