Job Overview
Become a Safelite auto glass technician through a structured training program. Trainees receive hands‑on and classroom instruction, earn Safelite Safe Tech certification, and gain the skills to independently repair, replace, and recalibrate auto glass.
Responsibilities- Learn the Safelite way through hands‑on and classroom training, including installation and repair of auto glass.
- Assist in recalibrating automotive safety systems, troubleshooting, and completing diagnostic testing.
- Provide additional services and products to customers.
- Study and pass all required tests to become a certified technician.
- Safely operate company and customer vehicles, company‑issued tools and chemicals.
- Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all company policies and standards.
- Competitive weekly pay starting at $20.25/hr, increasing to $25.00/hr after certification.
- Earn $5 per set of wiper blades added for customer safety.
- Benefits package valued at over $10k*, including 401(k) with company match, medical plans, paid time off, holidays, and volunteer days.
- Option to buy or sell unused PTO up to 16 hours.
- Up to $5,250 annually in tuition reimbursement.
- Paid training and all necessary tools and resources.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent (preferred).
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license; other licenses required by law.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend and twist.
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Operate a motor vehicle safely with in‑cab camera monitoring.
- Provide outstanding customer service and exceed expectations.
- Work outside in varied weather and extreme temperatures.
- Handle chemicals safely per “Safelite Way of Fitting.”
- Work scheduled days with flexibility on start and end times.
- Proficiency in diagnostic tools for recalibration and troubleshooting.
- Strong problem‑solving and collaborative skills.
- Read, write, and interpret English and technical directions.
- Communicate orally and in writing.
- Maintain professional appearance and adhere to dress code and PPE policies.
- Maintain stable performance under pressure.
