Responsibilities

Primary

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop new commercial insurance opportunities through networking, referrals, and direct outreach
  • Build relationships with business owners, executives, and professional referral partners (CPAs, attorneys, bankers, etc.)
  • Conduct discovery meetings to understand a prospects operations, exposures, and risk management needs
  • Collaborate with internal account managers and carriers to design insurance programs and solutions
  • Present insurance proposals and guide clients through coverage decisions
  • Manage and grow a personal book of business with a focus on long-term retention
  • Maintain consistent activity levels, pipeline management, and follow-up
  • Participate in ongoing training related to sales, insurance concepts, and risk management
  • Represent the agency professionally in the local business community
Requirements

Position Requirements & Expectations:

  • Must obtain state Property & Casualty insurance license prior to start date

(study support and guidance provided if needed)

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comfort with outbound business development and relationship-based sales
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage time and priorities independently
  • Professional presence and ability to build trust with business owners
  • Willingness to learn complex concepts and continuously improve sales skills
  • Long-term mindset focused on building a career, not short-term transactions
  • Bachelors degree preferred but not required; relevant professional or sales experience strongly considered
