Job DescriptionAs a Vascular Access Nurse Consultant, you will collaborate with our customer's clinical team to resolve venous access issues and facilitate treatment objectives. You may work inside or outside the hospital setting, depending on each referral, offering a unique opportunity to observe varied treatment protocols and patient challenges. This per diem position requires a minimum commitment of only four scheduled shifts per month.
Key Responsibilities- Place PICCs, midlines, and peripheral IVs with ultrasound and use ECG confirmation.
- Assist with management of PICCs and other vascular access devices.
- Provide a wide range of vascular access support services, including port access, line removal, declotting, etc.
- Educate facility nursing staff regarding PICCs, midlines, and other CVADs.
- Experienced in ultrasound-guided IV (USGIV) placements and vascular access device insertions.
- Training available in some locations for candidates with recent, consistent USGIV placement experience.
- Priority given to fully trained vascular access nurses; additional training available for those with strong USGIV skills.
- Registered Nurse with current license.
- Minimum of three years' experience in acute care (preferred).
- American Heart BLS Certification.
- Experience placing ultrasound-guided IVs.
- Experience with other vascular access device placements using ultrasound.
- Experience in vascular access device management, including care, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to work independently.
- Fulfillment of scheduling requirements as indicated by job classification.
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
- Must possess a smartphone.
- Access to reliable transportation for travel to patient sites.
Hourly Pay Range: $30–$50 USD. Compensation is based on candidate experience and relevant certifications.
