Job SummarySulzer Pump Services (US) Inc. is seeking a skilled Machinist to operate and maintain various machine tools, producing precision components and parts for our industrial pump systems. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and timely delivery of our products.
Job Responsibilities- Set up, operate, and maintain a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses to fabricate or repair metallic and non-metallic parts.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering specifications to determine machining operations, sequences, and dimensions.
- Select appropriate tools, cutting speeds, and feed rates based on material type and part specifications.
- Inspect finished products for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues with machinery or parts, making necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to optimize machining processes and improve product quality.
- Document work performed, including measurements, materials used, and any issues encountered.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a vocational program or apprenticeship in machining is highly preferred.
- Proven experience as a Machinist, with a strong understanding of various machine tools and machining principles.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
- Strong knowledge of various materials (e.g., steel, aluminum, brass, plastics) and their machining properties.
- Expertise in using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, etc.) and maintaining tight tolerances.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations relevant to machining operations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
