Airbus is looking for an Aircraft Quality Inspector to join our team based in Mobile, AL.
Meet the Team:The team at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing facilities help assemble the finest aircraft in the world, along with two (soon to be three) production lines for the A220 and A320 Family aircraft. On the shop floor you'll be surrounded by individuals who are passionate about aviation and skilled in areas like electrical, structure and quality.
Your working environment:On 'Airbus Way' you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019.

- Execute technical inspections in the production process of the aircraft in the context of the authorization of manufacturer operation
- Prepare and perform visual, incoming, first article, final inspections during aircraft manufacture for compliance with design specifications, customers and certification requirements.
- Document the technical inspections performed in the multiple production orders SAP-based and the relevant SAL-based IT systems by inspection marks and complete other aircraft documents as well as prepare first article inspection reports.
- Support troubleshooting, Functional Test Procedures (FTPs) and participate in Quality Survey requests.
- Compile all technical data of non-conformance in order to launch the NCMS-based quality discrepancy sheets for the professional assessment in accordance with the manufacturing engineering documentation.
- Document all the results of the technical inspector in the FLEXNET/NCMS/SAP based IT system.
- Attain skills to perform audits of Non-Conformance Rework Orders as part of the Material Review Board (MRB).
- Perform audits/reviews of workbooks to validate PV approval and process adherence.
- Track and maintain components during the Non Conformance process.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education:
- High school diploma or GED.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant License including inspection authorization is preferred.
- 3 years of experience as a Quality Inspector in an aviation company with an emphasis on mechanical and/or structural components and assemblies.
- Previous experience in a mechanic or technician role is highly desirable.
- Airline experience is desirable.
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
- Knowledge of drawing systems, inspection plans, and inspection coordination.
- Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and tools used in the production line.
- Handling and use of inspection tools of the length measuring techniques (mechanical, optical, electrical)
- Onsite or remote: 100% onsite
- Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions.
- Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings;
Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals. - Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.
- Equipment Operation:
Able to operate a wide range of tools and equipment including hydraulic lifts and arms. - Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg while engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects.
- Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 30lbs/14kg.
- Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas and on the shop floor.
- Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at the computer and in meetings.
- Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.
- Standing: able to stand for extended periods delivering information.
- Travel/Mobility: able to travel overseas and domestically.
