Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
What Will You Do?
- Under general direction, repair and maintenance of production related equipment within the manufacturing facility.
- Troubleshoots and repairs equipment including electrical, hydraulic and mechanical, plumbing, engines, motors, cranes and other production related equipment
- Documents and completes records of repair, work orders, etc. in an accurate and timely manner
- Uses hand and power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments to repair and maintain
- Maintains a clean work area and maintains general housekeeping standards, such as proper care for assigned tools
- Understands and practices established safety and quality standard procedures
- Performs all tasks to ISO standards and requirements
- Assists with cross training peers
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, twist and even crawl. The employee regularly lifts and carries 50 pounds and will frequently push, pull and handle materials.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to any of the following: metal cuttings, welding odors, extreme temperatures, flying debris, exposure to chemical cleaning solutions and odors, wet and dirty cleanups as well as drainage issues.
Moderate noise in the work environment
Your Experience Should Be... Required- 3+ years related experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Proven working knowledge of industrial powered equipment including forklifts, aerial lifts, cranes and hoists
- Intermediate electric, pneumatic, hydraulic and PLC troubleshooting skills
- Advanced troubleshooting and repair skills
- Experience interpreting blueprints, sketches
- Basic math
- Self - starter capable of effectively managing multiple concurrent projects
- Overtime, weekend hours and split shifts, as needed
- High school diploma or GED
- Certification from trade school or technical program
- Basic wiring skills a plus
- Electrical motor control experience, desired
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office a plus
