Position OverviewThe State of Alabama is seeking a highly skilled Data Quality & Data Architecture Engineer with a stronger emphasis on Data Quality (60 70%) and supporting Data Governance initiatives (30 40%). This role requires a hands‑on technical professional capable of rearchitecting data structures—not just cleaning data—but redesigning the foundational data framework to improve performance, scalability, and AI-readiness. Long‑term contract candidates will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities- Lead data quality initiatives across enterprise systems
- Redesign and rearchitect data structures to improve efficiency and scalability
- Optimize how data is organized, stored, accessed, and related across systems
- Build foundational data models to support AI-driven initiatives
- Implement data quality rules, validation frameworks, and governance controls
- Improve system performance through structural data improvements
- Collaborate with application, analytics, and AI teams
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and compliance standards
- 5 7 years of experience in Data Engineering / Data Architecture
- Strong expertise in Data Quality frameworks and implementation
- Experience rearchitecting enterprise data structures
- Solid understanding of Data Governance principles
- Experience with data modeling, data restructuring, and performance optimization
- Ability to design scalable data solutions that support AI/ML initiatives
- Strong SQL and database architecture knowledge
- Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
- Experience supporting AI or advanced analytics initiatives
- Exposure to enterprise‑scale data environments
- Public sector experience is a plus
- Full Onsite Montgomery, Alabama
- Interviews expected to begin the week following March 2
- Long-Term Contract-to-Hire
