About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and detail‑oriented Level I Network Operations Technician to join our Network Operations Center (NOC) team. In this role, you will be the first line of defense in maintaining network integrity and ensuring seamless service for our customers. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring network performance, troubleshooting basic network issues, and providing excellent customer service. This position is based on‑site at our Network Operations Center in Mobile, AL.

What

You’ll Do
  • Create, update, and manage trouble tickets to ensure timely resolution of network issues
  • Coordinate with field technicians and elevate issues as needed to ensure prompt resolution of network problems
  • Perform initial diagnostics and troubleshooting for Ethernet, internet, and SONET/TDM circuits, including identifying and resolving basic connectivity issues
  • Provide clear and effective communication with customers to keep them informed about the status and resolution of their network issues
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of network incidents, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions
  • Continuously monitor network performance using NOC tools to detect and respond to network events and alarms
Required Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a friendly and professional telephone manner
  • Proficiency with typing and word processing, ensuring accurate and efficient data entry
  • Skills with utilizing Microsoft Office applications such as:
    Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Ability to actively listen, accurately document information, and manage call details.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities
  • Excellent customer service skills
Even Better
  • CCNA, CompTIA Network+, and CCENT certifications are preferred
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast‑paced and stressful environment while maintaining a positive and pleasant manner with others
  • Experience with handling a large volume of work in a fast‑paced environment
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to support 24/7 network operations
  • Ability to work in a team‑oriented environment and collaborate with various departments
