- Assist registered nurses and/or physicians with exams and procedures
- Take and record vital signs – temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure
- Administer medications and injections according to orders
- Maintain patient records
- Perform routine tests and procedures, including dipstick urinalysis, hematocrits, EKGs, tympanometry, audiometry, inhalation therapy, pregnancy tests, and blood glucose
- Maintain inventories of clinical supplies and medications
- Ensure that patient examination rooms are ready for use and stocked with supplies and equipment
- Complete callback calls to parents/guardians by phone
- Call prescriptions to pharmacies
- Prepare lab, X‑ray request and referral forms
- Maintain regular and prompt attendance; work schedule as defined and overtime as required
- Perform related duties as required
Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing meeting the minimum standards set by the State of Alabama. Licensure with the State of Alabama as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
