Practice Manager Overview
Maintain efficient and accurate day-to-day operations of the medical office. Train and educate employees to ensure highest level of customer service and financial operations. Implement quality initiatives to improve provider and patient satisfaction surveys. Set operational checks and balances to ensure accuracy of front-desk patient collections. Maintain telephone triage, appointment scheduling, registration, patient flow and discharge procedures to enhance patient satisfaction and physician productivity.
Provide recommendations and follow up actions for operational inefficiencies. Lead team members in effective management style maintaining professionalism and encouraging “Best Practices.” Ensure proactive measures for changes impacting supervised programs. Coordinate with Business Office Manager, Assistant Director of Practice Management, and others to collect and enter patient demographic and insurance data into Avatar correctly. Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly reports and processes for insurance verification, appointment reminders, scheduling, etc.
- Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience managing a medical practice required.
- Proficient with computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite, EMR and medical billing software.
- Knowledge of HIPAA.
- Preferred experience in medical practices to include credentialing, outpatient best practices, coding and billing.
