Environmental Engineer, Water Engineer
Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is one of the largest privately held architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast, with offices located throughout Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Tennessee.
Project Professional to support on-going civil projects in our Mobile, AL office. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated engineer to work in a growing office. We are looking for someone who has excellent time management skills and is experience in water and wastewater facilities.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities- Build computational modeling of city hydraulic systems, including water supply, water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
- Simulate Water & Sewer network structures to know well their level of service (LOS), give feasible recommendations, and propose capital improvement projects in city Master Plan.
- Apply coding skills and various mathematical regression models to project population growth and corresponding water & wastewater demands. Propose engineering recommendations in technical memorandum.
- Incorporate potential future water & sewer service area expansion and areas of development interest and create conceptual plans for future water distribution & wastewater collection system configuration.
- Working with project managers on initiating preliminary engineering reports (PER) for Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) project applications and implementations.
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Two years of experience in utility water supply and drainage, industrial water and wastewater treatment, and industrial waste stream management & disposal.
- Knowledge of Transportation Planning, Pavement Design and Construction and Geometric Design.
- Skills in facility operation, Big Data and Database Management Systems.
