Overview
This graduate engineering position involves the investigation, design, and construction of public works and engineering projects for Mobile County and related agencies.
RequirementsApplicants must meet the following qualifications and responsibilities:
- Graduate engineering work in the investigation, design, and construction of public works and engineering projects.
- Medical and physical standards for the class of work; medical examination by designated physicians; applicant responsible for cost.
- Right to work in the United States and no sponsorship required.
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited college or university.
- Certificate of enrollment as an Engineer Intern with the State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors in Alabama (required).
- Licensed Professional Engineer by the Alabama Licensing Board (required).
- Mobile County: $71,392 - $114,131 (Salary amended 10/7/2024)
- City of Mobile: $60,164 - $96,182 (Salary amended 1/28/2025)
- Mobile Area Water and Sewer System: $67,953 - $108,634 (Salary amended 10/11/2025)
- 10 days annual vacation with accumulation to 35 days (maximum 25 days per year for 25+ years of service)
- 10 days paid annual sick leave with no limit on accumulation
- 12 paid holidays each year (some jurisdictions may vary)
