Role Overview

HDR is looking for a Project Manager to join one of the largest, fastest‑growing, and comprehensive TMT (Tech, Media and Telecom) building design practices in the industry. The successful candidate will manage and deliver data center and mission‑critical projects from upfront planning and pre‑design activities through detail design, construction support, and commissioning. In addition to managing and delivering projects, the candidate must possess the drive, experience, and charisma needed to develop and secure work from a robust global client base and expand HDR's reputation within these markets.

The role involves managing multidisciplinary design teams from project conception to completion and working closely with the Regional Building Engineering Services Business Group Managers as well as our global TMT client management team. Some travel to client sites or other HDR offices is required.

Responsibilities
  • Managing and delivering data center and mission‑critical projects from upfront planning and pre‑design through detail design, construction support, and commissioning.
  • Managing multidisciplinary design teams from project conception to completion.
  • Coordinating the work of multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Helping to grow a team that works together to create a collaborative environment that promotes career growth, the production of high‑quality construction documents, client satisfaction, and acts as a safety net for each other.
  • Mentoring, organizing, and facilitating the growth of staff.
  • Coordinating workload through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule.
  • Mission‑critical staff recruiting and retention.
  • Establishing client relations and participating in marketing, design, and production meetings.
  • Assisting Marketing and Business Development groups in developing fee proposals and scope of work documents.
  • Promoting HDR through regular client interface.
  • Collaborating on development strategies, new business prospects, technical services, quality, and production methods and standards to achieve the established goals and objectives of the business group, region and company.
  • Ensuring product deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Managing and leading project teams to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Controlling project quality, schedule, scope, and budget.
  • Forecasting, invoicing, and contract management.
  • Creating vital proposal content including scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Assisting HDR in interview and interview preparation/presentations.
  • Working cooperatively with local office leads, other business groups, technical directors, and marketing managers.
