Compensation: $25-$35 per hour (commensurate with experience)

Position Overview

As a Safety Coordinator at InLine, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe work environment, ensuring that our projects—from highway lighting to intelligent transportation systems—comply with all local, state, and federal regulations. You’ll conduct on‑site audits, lead training sessions, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive a culture of safety and mitigate risks for employees and the public.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Compliance
    Conduct regular job site inspections and audits and ensure adherence to OSHA, DOT, and other relevant regulations.
  • Safety Program Leadership
    Develop, implement, and continually improve safety protocols, emergency procedures, and employee training programs.
  • Risk Mitigation
    Identify potential hazards, investigate incidents, and recommend corrective actions to reduce future risks.
  • Team Collaboration
    Partner with project managers, electricians, and field personnel to integrate safety measures into project planning and execution.
  • Reporting & Documentation
    Maintain detailed records of inspections, incident reports, corrective actions, and training activities for compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Culture Building
    Champion a proactive, safety‑first mindset, conducting regular toolbox talks and reinforcing best practices at all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience
    Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and direct safety experience.
    3+ years of hands‑on experience in a safety role, preferably in construction, transportation, or related sectors.
  • Certifications
    OSHA 30‑Hour, Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or equivalent professional certifications are highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills
    Familiarity with state and federal safety regulations, hazard identification, and incident investigation methodologies.
  • Communication Skills
    Strong verbal and written abilities to conduct training, write reports, and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Driver’s License
    Must hold a valid driver’s license; willingness to travel to various job sites as needed.

  • Physical Demands
    Capability to stand, walk, climb, or operate in varying field conditions (including adverse weather and active construction sites).
  • Flexibility
    Availability for occasional weekend work or extended hours to address urgent safety matters.
  • Attention to Detail
    Diligent record‑keeping and documentation to ensure compliance and track improvements.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Hours
    Typically Monday–Friday, 8‑hour shifts (additional hours as required)
  • Pay
    $25 – $35 per hour based on experience
