Assistant Project Manager

A highly respected federal general contractor is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support large-scale government and DoD construction projects. The Assistant Project Manager will support the Project Manager and field leadership in coordinating all phases of construction – from preconstruction through closeout. This includes managing documentation, RFIs, submittals, schedules, and communication between the field, office, and client.

This position requires travel to project sites
, which may include military bases or secured federal locations.

• Support project planning, scheduling, and procurement activities
• Manage and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other project documentation
• Assist in budget tracking and cost control efforts
• Collaborate with superintendents and subcontractors to maintain project progress and quality
• Ensure all work meets federal compliance, safety, and reporting standards

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
• 2–5+ years of experience in commercial or federal construction
• Experience supporting USACE, NAVFAC, or GSA projects is a plus
• Proficiency with project management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or MS Project
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills
• Willingness to travel as needed for project site support
