Controller, Accounting, Accounting Manager

Fit Recruiting is assisting a well‑established company in Mobile seeking an experienced Controller to oversee accounting operations across multiple related entities. This role is ideal for a hands‑on accounting professional who enjoys building structure, improving processes, and helping streamline financial systems.

The Controller will manage separate sets of books for multiple companies while helping evaluate and implement the right accounting software to integrate reporting and improve financial visibility across the organization. Salary ranges from $85K-$100K, depending on insurance, plus BCBS insurance and a 401(k).

• Maintain accurate financial records and general ledgers for each company
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Oversee reconciliations, month‑end close, and financial reporting
• Coordinate accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management
• Assist leadership with budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies
• Evaluate and implement accounting software to integrate multiple entities into one cohesive system

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Experience managing multiple entities
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles
• Experience with accounting systems and software implementation is a plus
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
• Strong Excel and accounting software skills
