Mobile, AL Area: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a skilled Staff Accountant to support accurate inventory management, cost analysis, and financial reporting for a client operation.

• Maintain and reconcile inventory accounts within the general ledger.
• Monitor, analyze, and investigate inventory transactions, variances, and discrepancies.
• Conduct and support regular physical inventory counts and audits.
• Analyze cost data to ensure accurate product costing and pricing.
• Maintain and update standard costs for products and materials.
• Prepare and analyze cost of goods sold (COGS) reports.
• Assist with inventory- and cost-related budgets and forecasts.
• Prepare inventory- and costing-related financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting principles and internal policies.
• Assist with internal and external audits as required.
• Collaborate with production, procurement, and warehouse teams to ensure accurate inventory tracking and costing.
• Provide financial insights to improve inventory control and cost efficiency.
• Support cross-functional initiatives related to new products and process improvements.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Stay current with industry best practices and accounting standards related to inventory and costing.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• 2–4 years of accounting experience with an emphasis on inventory and cost accounting.
• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems; strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods during inventory counts.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work in both office and warehouse/production environments as needed.
