Tessiers Mechanical Contractors, a Midwest premier mechanical contractor and one of the best employers in Mitchell, is seeking qualified candidates for a Field/Shop - Welder/CDL Driver position.
Our company is growing and we are excited to bring new talent to the team!
Responsibilities- Assist journeymen in fabrication, assembly, welding, and installation of sheet metal products and structures.
- Mechanical troubleshooting.
- Loading materials and equipment along with CDL Class A or B driving trucks.
- General shop work/maintenance, including use of hand tools and machinery (e.g., forklift).
- Light travel outside of the shop may be required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a pre-work physical assessment and drug screen.
- Basic computer skills and a math aptitude.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stand, and use hand tools and shop machinery.
- Strong interest in the sheet metal trade and eagerness to learn.
This is a full-time position with competitive pay as well as an opportunity to enter a skilled trade program. The position will typically be on a 4‑day work week, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. M‑TH, as well as overtime on Fridays with the possibility of light travel. We will assist you in obtaining your CDL.
Pay and BenefitsYou will receive Union scale wages for a Pre‑Apprentice, as this will be a Pre‑Apprentice position to start. Once schooling in the Union apprenticeship program begins (which we anticipate will be in the fall of 2026), you will be eligible to receive Union benefits as an Apprentice, including health insurance, and pension.
You will also be eligible to enroll in our Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP) after 6 months of employment.
