Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Visiting Nurse | Home Care Mitchell

Location: Avera at Home Mitchell

Worker Type: Regular

Work Shift: Primarily days with night, weekend and holiday on-call involvement (United States of America)

Pay Range: $31.00 - $46.25 (Actual pay rate dependent on experience)

Position Highlights

May be eligible for a $10,000 sign on bonus.

Possible relocation bonus available.

M-F: 8‑4:30 occasional weekend & call.

A Brief Overview

Responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide nursing care for Avera@Home patients following the ANA Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice. The Nurse assumes responsibility for the outcome of nursing care provided to patients in their homes or in facilities. The Nurse demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide exceptional care for the population served.

  • Collect patient health data.
  • Analyze the assessment data in determining nursing diagnoses/problem focus.
  • Identify expected outcomes/goals individualized to the patient.
  • Develop a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes.
  • Implement the interventions identified in the plan of care.
  • Evaluate the patient’s progress toward attainment of the outcomes.
  • Systemically evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
  • Collaborate with the patient, significant others, and healthcare providers in providing patient care.
  • Utilize research/evidence-based findings in practice if appropriate.
  • Consider factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost in planning, and delivering patient care.

The individual must be able to work the hours specified and perform each essential job function satisfactorily, including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds. Required

Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience
  • Drivers License - Valid driver’s license required and the employee must be insurable by the Avera Health automobile liability insurance carrier Upon Hire.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Active license in the state of practice required Upon Hire.
Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience
  • Minimum two (2) years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
