Virtual Design and Construction Technician

The primary role of the Virtual Design Technician is to lead project implementation with VDC technology and related processes. The Virtual Design Technician is the contact between the field, prefabrication, and the Corporate Office.

Position Responsibilities:

* Coordinate all BIM Modeling in REVIT.

* Ability to translate 2D drawings and specs into a complete 3D/4D models.

* Create prefabrication drawings that are accurate using architectural, structural, mechanical and electric contract prints consistent with Muth Electric, Inc. Standard Procedures.

* Maintain a project BIM execution plan.

* Studies the design specifications, criteria, and the electrical specifications.

* Is aware of general electrical codes that affect his/her design or methods.

* Knows of currently used construction processes.

* Manipulate engineered plans for the purpose of producing legible Field drawings.

* Make changes to project plans after the job is complete to produce Record drawings.

* Keep current with changes in technology related to this position.

* Maintain a free exchange of non-confidential information through-out all functions of the firm.

* Keeps his/her supervisor informed of the progress of each assigned project, his/her activities, problems, solutions and anything unusual that may occur.

* Attends and participates in meetings as required.

* Notifies his/her supervisor immediately in the event of unusual delays in finishing a project in a timely fashion, the problem encountered and the best possible anticipated completion time.

* Assures that all confidential information is maintained as just that- confidential; and is not to be passed on to anyone other than those that have an absolute need to know.

* Cooperates with all personnel.

* Makes recommendations to his/her supervisor that will improve any part of the firm.

* Fulfills, submits and maintains records and reports as required.

* Keeps current in technological changes by reading trade publications and the like, and recommends to his/her supervisor new material, products, tooling, equipment and processes- when they are applicable to Muth Electric.

* All decision making will reflect the best interests of Muth Electric, Inc. and not for personal gain.

* Performs other duties assigned to him/her by his/her supervisor and/or assumes other duties and responsibilities not specially outlined herein - but which are logically and properly those inherent to the Virtual Design Technician and/or defined on other procedures.
