Safety-Sensitive Position

The Equipment Operator – Tractor & Buggy is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of tractor and buggy equipment used in hauling, spreading, and transporting organic materials. This role plays a critical part in maintaining operational flow, supporting field operations, and ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental standards.

This is a safety-sensitive position requiring a valid CDL Class A license, strong situational awareness, and strict adherence to DOT and company safety policies. The operator is responsible for their own safety as well as the safety of others.

• Safely operate tractor and buggy equipment for hauling and spreading materials.
• Transport materials between designated sites in compliance with DOT regulations.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on all assigned equipment.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and complete required documentation.
• Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance issues promptly.
• Maintain clean and organized equipment and work areas.
• Assist with site preparation, loading, and unloading operations as needed.
• Follow all company safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Represent the company professionally in all interactions with clients and the public.
• Maintain accurate operational and transport records.

• Active CDL Class A license (required).
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening.
• Experience operating a tractor & buggy or similar heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe hauling practices.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.

• Previous agricultural, composting, or organic material handling experience.
• Experience with GPS-guided or precision farming equipment.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for minor equipment troubleshooting.
• TWIC card (if applicable to location).

• Prolonged periods of sitting while operating equipment.
• Frequent climbing in and out of equipment.
• Ability to work extended hours during peak operational periods.
• Exposure to dust, odors, noise, and outdoor elements.

This position is designated as safety sensitive. The employee must maintain a clear mind and strict adherence to all safety policies. Use of electronic devices while operating equipment is strictly prohibited.
