Location: Osage Beach

Overview

Responsible for servicing aircraft and attend to the routine needs of pilots and the traveling public for accommodations, transportation and flight information.

The following examples are meant to be illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive:

  • Direct aircraft to parking locations by means of visual signals and tie them down.
  • Refuels aircraft, check and put in oil, if needed.
  • Tow/Tug aircraft to parking areas, into and out of hangars.
  • Operate airport fueling equipment and maintenance equipment as required.
  • Write up sales tickets, prepare credit card forms as well as end of the day sales information and inventory readings.
  • Receive fuel supplies at the bulk fuel farm.
  • Fill service trucks at the bulk fuel farm.
  • Operate and monitor airport radios, give airport advisories.
  • Check quality control of aviation fuel.
  • Make daily line checks and records information for billing process.
  • Stand by planes with fire extinguisher until engines are running and direct ship out of parking area.
  • Perform routine maintenance including grass cutting and trimming.
  • Perform snow removal duties as assigned.
  • Perform routine janitorial duties.
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly with fellow employees to provide quality seamless customer service.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent.
  • Possess a valid Missouri Drivers License.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • One year of experience performing aircraft servicing activities including towing/tugging aircraft.

OR

  • Combination of education, training or experience which would qualify for the position as determined by the City Administrator and Airport Manager.
Knowledge
  • Servicing requirements of private, commercial and airline fueling, servicing and towing etc.
  • Airport fueling equipment, maintenance equipment as well as operational and maintenance procedures.
  • Safe and unsafe working practices used in routine fueling and maintenance around aircraft/airports.
Ability
  • Bend or stoop repeatedly or continually over time to service aircraft.
  • Lift arm above shoulder level to wash windshields or to refuel aircraft.
  • Climb ladders or steps to refuel aircraft.
  • Skills necessary to operate fuel trucks, tugs, tractors, mowers and power tools.
  • Move heavy objects weighing 50 pounds or more short and long distances.
  • Work in a variety of weather and environmental conditions with exposure to the elements, dust and extreme heat.
  • Operate City vehicles in accordance with state laws and City Policies.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, pilots and the general public.
  • Understand and follow verbal and written instructions with limited supervision.
