Job Duties
- Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk‑in cooler.
- Operate all equipment.
- Prepare product.
- Receive and process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
- Deliver product by car to customer and deliver flyers and door hangers.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
- Access to an insured vehicle available for delivery.
Orientation and training provided on the job.
Communication SkillsAbility to comprehend and give correct written instructions; communicate verbally with customers and co‑workers to process orders both over the phone and in person.
Essential Functions / SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide accurately and quickly (may use calculator); make correct monetary change. Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders. Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers for rapid, accurate movement. Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen. Navigational skills to read maps, locate addresses within the designated delivery area, including adverse terrain and multi‑story buildings.
WorkConditions
Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when removing trash and performing outside tasks. In‑store temperatures range from 36 °F in the cooler to 90 °F or higher in some work areas, with sudden changes in temperature both indoors and outdoors. Fumes from food odors and exposure to cornmeal dust. Cramped quarters, including walk‑in cooler. Hot surfaces/tools can reach up to 500 °F or higher with sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
Sensing:
Requires talking and hearing on the telephone, near and mid‑range vision for most in‑store tasks, depth perception, and ability to distinguish hot and cold surfaces.
Temperaments:
Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work with others, handle stress, meet quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, make judgments, and decisions.
Physical demands:
Standing for most tasks; walking on ceramic tile or linoleum; work surfaces between 36‑48 inches high; occasional short distances. Delivery personnel travel between store and vehicle and to customer locations. Paperwork usually completed at a desk or table. Bulk deliveries of up to 50 lb cases are unloaded using a hand truck and stacked up to 72 in tall. Carries can weigh from 3 lb to 30 lb over short distances, 12 lb per tray of pizza dough.
During delivery, carries pizzas, sides, and beverages while walking and climbing. Drives within a designated delivery area, possibly several deliveries per shift. Pushes and pulls trays on dollies, requiring up to 7.5 lb force. Occasionally navigates stairs or ladders for maintenance. Must perform forward bending for 40‑45 seconds at a time at the assembly station, also when stocking ingredients.
