Job Summary
Coordinate and direct the movement of trucks and freight to make pickups and deliveries efficiently and on time. Represent the company in a positive manner by providing customers with quick, precise, helpful, courteous and professional customer service.
Your responsibilities- Record and allocate all requests for delivery and pickup within established territories among the available drivers.
- Consolidate freight orders into truckloads for specific destinations.
- Record all information for proper billing.
- Make assignments of drivers and trucks; call in extra drivers when needed to handle unexpected volume.
- Maintain radio and phone contact with trucks, receive and dispatch aid in response to any emergency needs for assistance or repairs.
- Communicate with all drivers, customers and suppliers in a professional and courteous manner.
- Keep vehicle inventory with accurate records of trailers being used for off‑site storage to ensure proper billing.
- Document, investigate and report equipment damages.
- Maintain metric reports as required by management and/or customers.
- Proactively seek out backhaul loads.
- Complete administrative duties timely and accurately.
- Maintain written/computerized records and other forms of information.
- All other duties assigned by reporting manager/supervisor.
- Participate, support and comply with all health, safety and 6S initiatives and requirements.

Minimum Requirements
- 1‑2 years administrative experience required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience with MS Excel and Word
- Ability to work without supervision
- Prior experience or exposure to logistics or trucking operations
- Knowledge of DOT regulations as they pertain to our trucking environment
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and at a fast pace
- Good management skills in making driver assignments and developing cooperation among the team of drivers
- Good knowledge of geographical area to facilitate efficient routing
Preferred Requirements
- Previous experience as a truckload dispatcher
- Bachelor’s degree in business, transportation, or related field of study
19.00‑23.00 hourly. 2 PM to 10 PM M‑F, Saturdays possible.
