The Load Planner plays a key role in Uni Group’s household goods (HHG) transportation operations, developing and executing solutions that maximize capacity, support service excellence, and keep shipments moving smoothly from origin to destination. This role supports a multi-state territory and works across both traditional van line operations and alternative transportation solutions. You’ll be part of a close-knit, highly collaborative team that takes pride in their work and shows up for one another.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, juggling multiple priorities, and learning the ins and outs of transportation operations.
- Plan, coordinate, and dispatch shipments to maximize equipment utilization and on-time service
- Monitor loads from start to finish and proactively resolve service issues
- Partner closely with agents, drivers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure a positive customer experience
- Balance operational needs, service expectations, and cost considerations when making planning decisions
- Ensure shipments and processes align with company policies and transportation regulations (including DOT requirements)
- Track performance at the shipment and carrier level to support service quality and operational goals
- Contribute to process improvements and help the team operate more efficiently over time
- Pitch in on additional tasks as needed to support the team’s success
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- 2–3 years of professional experience; transportation or logistics experience is helpful but not required
- Strong problem-solving skills and comfort making decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt as conditions change
- Clear, confident communicator who works well with a team
- Willingness to learn new systems, processes, and ways of working
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
- Occasional Saturday shift (approximately once per quarter), with adjusted hours during that week
- On-site during initial training (approximately 3–4 weeks)
- Hybrid work model after training, with increased on-site presence during peak season (typically beginning mid-May)
