About the RoleAs a First Student part‑time School Bus Driver you will play a vital role in your community and the lives of the students you transport. You will be there at the start of the students’ day with before‑school pickup and at the end with an afternoon shift to bring students safely back home. No experience as a bus driver is required – we train you with our industry‑leading technology.
YourDay Will Include
- A split shift: early morning before‑school pickup and after‑school drop‑off with a few free hours in between.
- A guaranteed shift per school day; no nights or weekends unless you choose to work them.
- Additional hours from trips and charters when available.
- $21.60 per hour starting wage, based on experience.
- $750 bonus if the CLP is presented within 7 days of completing the Virtual CLP class.
- $250 bonus if the CLP is presented within 14 days of completing the Virtual CLP class.
- $1,000 sign‑on bonus for new drivers.
- Medical, dental, and vision benefits plus 401(k) retirement savings plans (benefits may vary by location or CBA).
- Paid CDL training (no experience required).
- Child‑Ride‑Along program for working parents.
- Bonus offer expires 11/30/25; conditions apply.
- Do not have a college degree or high school diploma.
- Have military experience.
- Are returning to the workforce or looking for a second job.
- Are retirees.
- Are looking to jump‑start a new career.
- Are looking for a part‑time schedule.
- Enjoy working with students.
- Are at least 21 years old.
- Have a valid driver’s license for at least 3 years.
This position is subject to DOT drug testing as a safety‑sensitive employee. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
