SummaryAs a Warehouse & Driver Associate you will be responsible for driving and transporting materials in raw or packaged form to and from specified destinations (plants, construction sites, offices, or within industrial yards) and supporting the warehouse in receiving, stocking, filling orders, and general maintenance and cleaning.
Responsibilities- On a daily basis, coordinate with the Delivery Coordinator the deliveries of product or material to proper destination by identifying destination, selecting route, and driving the vehicle.
- Load product and material on company delivery trucks to prevent damage during shipment; double-check against shipping papers with another warehouse employee for accuracy.
- Deliver and unload product on customer sites, collect payment if COD, and obtain signature for receipt of goods.
- Inspect the delivery truck condition daily (tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, water); complete Vehicle Maintenance Request form as required.
- Maintain an updated truck driver log, all necessary paperwork, and any required physicals or legal documents to drive.
- Maintain safe driving practices at all times and comply with company policies, procedures, and highway rules.
- Receive product by unloading vehicles, accepting deliveries, unpacking containers, and conveying product to designated racks, shelves, or storage bins.
- Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or convey orders to shipping.
- Open crates and containers upon receiving for inspection; note discrepancies or damaged products to Warehouse Supervisor.
- Assist with general upkeep of the warehouse (sweeping, breaking down pallets, organizing inventory), and maintain safety of building and staff by following safety guidelines.
- Keep walkways and loading docks clear of hazards (ice and snow) for safety of customers, employees, and assets.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Warehouse Supervisor.
- Inform customers of product availability via phone or in person.
- Ability to communicate effectively with teammates and customers.
- Accurate and detail-oriented with good mathematical aptitude.
- Self-motivated and able to work under minimal supervision.
- Ability to locate missing product in the warehouse and backtrack actions of others when placing or receiving items.
- Valid driver’s license.
