Aquaport Slide Attendant

The City of Maryland Heights is accepting applications for the Slide Attendant at Aquaport, its seasonal outdoor aquatic facility, for the 2026 season. The schedule is varied and will include evenings, weekends, and holidays. No experience needed - we will train you! Individuals hired for this position must pass a pre-employment drug test and a background check. As a safety-sensitive position, Slide Attendants are subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

The starting pay for this position is $15.40 per hour

Training is typically offered beginning in April, with normal hours commencing mid-May through Labor Day.

Provide a safe aquatic environment for patrons of the City's aquatic facilities by following Star Guard ELITE Dispatch BLS training to dispatch guests down Aquaport’s slides, CPR/AED, first aid, and established emergency action procedures. Assist with maintenance of pool and pool facilities; assist with other departmental programs and events as needed.

• Must be able to lift and carry or move up to 25 pounds
• Must be able to communicate effectively
• Must be able to work independently as well as with a team
• Must be able to obtain Star Guard ELITE Dispatch BLS Certification after training
• Must be able to work harmoniously with co-workers and patrons
• Must be available for pre-season site-specific training, including certifications, facility safety, and emergency action plan orientation, scheduling, and site-specific policies and procedures
• Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and attitude at all times.
