Software Engineer
Description
This is a software development position. The Software Engineer Co-op will work under the direction of a technical lead and in collaboration with other software engineers to design and develop software application code. Duties
- Analysis and implementation of use cases and user stories in application code, including relational database modeling
- Detection, analysis, and resolution of defects and inconsistencies
- Creation and maintenance of unit tests to verify function-level behavior
- Contribution to automated tests to verify user-level behavior
- Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Education, Training, and Experience
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- At least 1 year of a scientific degree program completed
- No previous experience required
- Must be currently enrolled in a BS or MS program in a related life sciences, computer science, data science, or microbiology program
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Written communications, including the ability to communicate technical data in written form
- Thriving in a fast-paced environment by managing tasks, multitasking, and adapting quickly to maintain productivity
- Skilled in MS Office tools including but not limited to Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
- Familiarity with software design concepts and software application lifecycle
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
