Today, our platform is Drupal-based and PHP-driven, hosted in Azure, and used across multiple European markets. This is a living system, not a finished product. Over time, we expect it to evolve toward a more decoupled architecture, potentially including a headless CMS, modern frontend frameworks (such as React or Vue), and changes to backend services where they make clear technical and business sense.

This role suits an engineer who is comfortable working with what exist today, while also contributing to where the platform should go next. Someone who can balance reliability and delivery with thoughtful, incremental modernization.

You’ll work closely with developer, designer, and business stakeholders across markets contributing both to day-to-day delivery and longer-term technical direction.

• Maintain and improve our Drupal-based websites. Focusing on stability, performance, and security across multiple countries.
• Take ownership of existing functionality as responsibility transitions into our internal teams.
• Build reusable, scalable features that work across markets rather than solving the same problem repeatedly.
• Collaborate with other developers, designers, and stakeholders te deliver clear, reliable user experience.
• Improve code quality through testing, code reviews, and documentation.
• Contribute to CI/CD practices and help keep our Azure-hosted environment reliable and predictable.

• The gradual move toward a more decoupled platform. Including clearer frontend/backend separation and shared components.
• The introduction of modern frontend technologies. Where they genuinely improve maintainability our user experience.
• Ongoing evaluation of CMS and backend choices. Guided by stability, maintainability, and business impact, not trends.
• Improvements in scalability, observability, and performance. As traffic, personalization, and commercial needs grow.

• Experience building and maintaining PHP-based web applications or platforms.
• A solid understanding of web architecture. Including REST API’s, databases, and backend driven websites.
• Experience working in existing or legacy codebases and improving them step by step.
• Comfort working with frontend developers, backend developers, and non-technical stakeholders.
• A mindset focused on ownership, learning, and long-term quality, rather thar quick fixes.

• Experience with Drupal or other CMS-driven platforms (monolithic or headless).
• Exposure to frontend framework such as React, Vue or Angular.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or similar).
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker, or Dev Ops practices.
• Experience working on e-commerce, ticketing or high traffic consumer platforms.

• Have shipped multiple features or improvements to production.
• Understand how the current platform is structured and how data flows through it.
• Contribute confidently to code reviews and technical discussions.
• Work independently while staying closely connected to the rest of the team.
