Grumman Advanced Weapons
Sr. Staff Embedded Software Engineer (Level
6) - Northridge, CA
As an integral part of our multi-discipline engineering team in Advanced Weapons, you will be on the forefront of developing next generation solutions to protect technology for our nation’s warfighters. The ideal candidate will be supporting our SiAW 2.2 programs for defining and architecting a secure missile weapon system. This position will require close collaboration with team members of other projects within the organization for security architecture designs as well as external partners and customers.
Rolesand responsibilities
- Develop and implement software for embedded devices and systems based on requirements.
- Design, develop, code, test and debug system software.
- Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle activities in an agile environment.
- Software requirements verification and validation.
- Bachelor’s Degree with 14 years of experience, OR Master’s degree with 12 years, OR Ph.D. with 10 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Self-starters and able to efficiently operate in a team environment.
- Experience with one or more Software languages/technologies: C/C++, Java, Python, C#.
- Experience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug, and maintenance are required.
- Experience in embedded software development.
- A year or more of experience working in an Agile team.
- Active Secret Clearance.
- Experience with software version control tools such as Git.
- Experience in embedded systems design with preemptive, multitasking real-time operating systems.
- Experience with embedded C++ optimization and using tools such as VxWorks.
- Hands on hardware integration and testing experience.
- Ability to debug complex integrated applications or test setup issues.
- Experience using Atlassian Tool Suite: JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Sonar Qube.
- Product owner experience.
Primary Level Salary Range: $ - $ The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
