The Software Aqua Badge Engineering Resources (SABER) program provides software engineering and development support to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). Our teams design, build, integrate, test, and deploy software solutions that advance geospatial intelligence capabilities across the enterprise. SABER is at the forefront of NGA's modernization efforts—delivering secure, cloud-native applications and services that transform how data is accessed, analyzed, and shared.
Engineers on this program thrive in a high-velocity, Agile Dev Sec Ops environment, collaborating with mission users and technical partners to build the next generation of intelligence systems. You'll be part of an innovative culture that values automation, continuous delivery, and scalable architectures—driving technical excellence that directly impacts national security.
Primary Responsibilities- Support software design, development, integration, and sustainment for NGA enterprise applications.
- Develop software solutions in alignment with Agile principles and Dev Sec Ops practices.
- Collaborate with systems engineers, cloud engineers, and product owners to design scalable, secure solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and daily standups to ensure quality and consistency.
- Support software integration, testing, and deployment activities across development and production environments.
- Maintain and improve continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to enhance software delivery.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Contribute to technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and process improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field and 4–8 years of software development experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and Dev Sec Ops principles.
- Familiarity with Git-based repositories and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Git Lab, Jenkins).
- Experience developing in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or C2S.
- Understanding of software testing, containerization, and system integration.
- U.S. citizenship and active Top Secret clearance required.
- Experience supporting NGA or Intelligence Community software systems.
- Familiarity with container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
- Experience with microservice architecture and REST API development.
- Knowledge of database technologies (Postgre
SQL, Mongo
DB, or Oracle). - AWS Developer or Security+ certification.
Target Salary Range: $95,000 – $115,000
