Description
This Social Worker position is an entry‑level position responsible for supporting the daily operations and resident engagement of ARCA’s Recovery Housing Program. This role works hand‑in‑hand with the Director of Recovery Housing to maintain census, ensure a safe and supportive living environment, and foster resident success through accountability, structure, and therapeutic support. The Social Worker plays a critical role in bridging the recovery housing environment with treatment services, ensuring that residents have access to resources that promote long‑term recovery and stability.
Key Responsibilities- Census Management:
Track, maintain, and report housing census; assist with intakes, discharges, and transfers. - Resident Engagement:
Build supportive, professional relationships with residents, serving as a daily point of contact for housing concerns. - Behavioral Support:
Address and document behavioral issues with residents in a timely, trauma‑informed, and solution‑focused manner, escalating issues as appropriate to the Director of Recovery Housing. - Group Facilitation:
Lead and/or co‑facilitate recovery‑oriented and life‑skills groups, such as relapse prevention, conflict resolution, and community‑building. - Training and working with House Managers who reside onsite in group management and facilitation.
- Collaboration:
Coordinate with treatment staff, case managers, and peer support specialists to align housing support with treatment plans. - Policy Compliance:
Ensure residents are following housing program rules, agreements, and safety protocols; document incidents and corrective actions. - Environment Oversight:
Conduct regular inspections to ensure housing facilities are clean, safe, and compliant with regulatory standards. - Resource Navigation:
Connect residents with supportive services (employment resources, educational programs, community supports, and recovery activities). - Documentation:
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record and housing logs. - Crisis Intervention:
Assist residents in navigating crises, utilizing de‑escalation skills and connecting them to appropriate clinical or emergency resources when necessary. - Professional Growth:
Participate in training and supervision to develop professional skills and knowledge of recovery housing best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field preferred (or equivalent work/volunteer experience in recovery or housing services).
- Knowledge of addiction, recovery, and housing support models (experience in sober living, recovery housing, or residential services preferred).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to set healthy boundaries.
- Ability to facilitate groups and engage residents in a respectful, empowering manner.
- Organizational skills for tracking census, documentation, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
- Familiarity with trauma‑informed care and motivational interviewing (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn electronic health record systems.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Compassion and empathy balanced with accountability.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution skills.
