Summary
St. Charles Community College is seeking a part‑time Police Dispatcher who will be responsible for answering the DPS dispatch phone, emergency phones, and multiple radios, and will dispatch Police Officers and DPS Officers on calls for service. This position will utilize the emergency public address system as well as the text message notification system. The DPS Police Dispatcher will monitor panic, burglar and fire alarms, CCTV video equipment and maintain logs and information to prepare reports as required.
Responsibilities- Answer dispatch calls from the DPS dispatch phone and emergency phones.
- Monitor panic, burglar, and fire alarms as well as CCTV video equipment.
- Maintain logs and prepare reports as required using the ITI records management system and CAD system.
- Assist with copy center requests.
- Provide customer service to all walk‑in customers (students, vendors, instructors, and parents).
- Dispatch Maintenance, Grounds, and Housekeeping staff on urgent requests.
- Provide support wherever needed to all Police Officers and DPS/Police Supervisors.
On call as needed.
Qualifications- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Prefer prior dispatching or law enforcement agency experience.
