Overview
Social Worker III-III Master’s Level (Child and Adult Protective Services) – County of Yuba, Health & Human Services Department.
Location:
5730 Packard Avenue, Suite 100 Marysville, 95901. This recruitment establishes an eligibility list for future vacancies.
- Independently perform the most complex and sensitive social services casework under general supervision.
- Identify, access and document abuse and neglect cases; provide counseling and support services to children and parents; refer clients to services.
- Prepare detailed, complex court documents and testify in court as required.
- Work related to a specific program area or to more general social service benefit provision.

QualificationsSocial Worker III Minimum: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a related field (e.g., psychology, sociology, social work) and at least two (2) years of case management experience equivalent to the County’s class series of Social Worker I.
Preferred: In addition to the minimum, two (2) years of case management experience equivalent to the County’s class of Social Worker II.
Social Worker III – Master’s Minimum: Master’s degree from an accredited institution in a related field and successful completion of the CDSS core training program pursuant to Welfare and Institutions Code Section 16206.
Preferred: Master of Social Work (MSW) or a Master’s degree from a two-year MFCC program.

Applicants must possess qualifications as outlined in the Child Welfare Services Program staff requirements issued by the State of California, Department of Social Services (Title 31-070, .1-.13).
Special Requirements: Complete the CDSS core training program within one year of appointment and a second core training within two years; pass a thorough background investigation which may include Live Scan; may be required to attend meetings outside normal hours; may be on call and respond to emergencies during weekends, holidays and off-hours.
Work Environment: Potential exposure to contagious diseases or hazardous substances; work with hostile or abusive individuals.
Benefits- Salary: Social Worker III: 5,546 to 6,101/Month;
Social Worker III Master’s: 6,127 to 6,740/Month. - Merit Increase: Typically 5% each year for the first 7 years.
- Retirement: Classic 2% @ 55;
New 2% @ 62;
